2025/26 Election Results bring about a FIRST for Padua’s SLC!
Underclassmen at Padua Franciscan High School voted on Friday, May 2nd for their class presidents, vice presidents, and representatives with surprising results in the rising senior class, naming TWO outstanding Bruins as their CO-Presidents for the 2025/26 school year.
Isabella Salyards and Reece Lesondra, both current student leaders in the junior class, battled throughout all of April in a dynamic campaign season with a flurry of fun campaign posters, slogans, and ideas. Bella, the challenger, had quite an uphill battle to secure votes against fellow officers and incumbents, Reece Lesondra and Zion Mealing (current President and VP, respectively). In a stunning turn of events, Bella and Reece BOTH secured EXACTLY 63 votes each for President, with Zion Mealing grabbing up the remaining 30. After a brief discussion with Padua’s Administration, it was decided that Bella and Reece would SHARE the coveted role of senior class president in the SLC’s first ever Co-Presidency!
The full election results are as follows: starting with the Class of 2028, your rising sophomore class officers will be Annabelle Shuman, GiGi Albarran, Diya Gupta, Mariana Bryan, CC Thomas, Eliana Eid, and Ava Behal. Congratulations to class Vice President, Isabella Geffert…and class president Cole Magnano.

Moving on to the Class of 2027, after a well run race, rising junior class officers next year will be Tyler McClelland, Chloe Mouszaya, Gabby Marchak, Sophia Yonan, Lorice George, Annabelle Thiry, and Rylee McKelvey. And returning for a second term, Jacob Obloj as VP and Nathan Carlson as Class President.

Finally, poised to take over from the current seniors and rising to top leadership in the school, Class of 2026 rising senior officers are Drew Ketvertis, Amilya Lampa, Kendall Holter, and Ava Kall. Zion Mealing will continue on as class vice President and Bella Salyards and Reece Lesondra will lead the school as Co-Class presidents.
Additionally, the entire SLC held a private election to appoint its own President and Vice President for next year. Congratulations to senior Drew Ketvertis, SLC President for 25/26 and Kendall Holter, SLC Vice President for 25/26.
