SNAP for Science! — Padua department vows to “do what we CAN do” to help those in need

Oh SNAP!!! SNAP is the United States’ largest anti-hunger program, providing food benefits to low-income individuals and families. Benefits are loaded onto an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which can be used like a debit card at most grocery stores to purchase eligible food items It helps nearly 42 million Americans afford groceries, including children, veterans, the elderly, and people with disabilities, and provides benefits to help households purchase food, with the amount often based on a family’s size and income.

Due to the government shut down, SNAP benefits are delayed and as of this week, some 42 million Americans have fallen deeper into poverty and hunger. Next week, through the Science Department, students have a chance to donate to help our fellow Clevelanders in need. Please consider donating a dollar or more – whatever you can contribute. Bring your funds to your science class each and every day next week.
