R.A.C.E. celebrates Native American Heritage month

R.A.C.E. (Respect All Cultures Equally) invite you to recognize and celebrate Native American Heritage Month. Native American Heritage Month is celebrated each day in November. It celebrates the traditions and culture of Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.

President Bush officiated it in 1990 to be celebrated every November. This month gives a platform for Native people in the United States of America to share their culture, traditions, music, crafts, dance, and concepts of life. This gives Native people the opportunity to express to their country and state officials their concerns and solutions for building bridges of understanding and friendship in their local area.
Federal Agencies are encouraged to provide educational programs for their employees regarding Native American history, rights, culture and contemporary issues, to better assist them in their jobs and for overall awareness. It is a time to reflect on the history of Native Americans and acknowledge their languages, stories and traditions.

Check out the display boards in the stairwells and outside the cafeteria throughout the month of November and, maybe, send a note of thanks to our R.A.C.E. members and leaders for their thoughtful inspirations!
