The Bruins’ historic basketball season has come to a close. The Girls’ Varsity Basketball team had a fantastic season, competing with the state’s toughest teams all season long and establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with on the court.

After finishing the regular season with a winning record of 15-9, the Bruins went on to crush the Revere High School Minutemen 73-39. The Bruins then beat the Walsh Jesuit Warriors by a whopping 36 points in a 67-31 victory, securing for themselves a spot in the District Championship against the Archbishop Hoban Knights.

Hoban was a fierce competitor, as they were ranked 2nd in the entirety of Division III Ohio. However, the Bruins gave them a run for their money. The Bruins were down by 10 points in the third quarter before rallying together to tie the Knights with a mere three minutes remaining in the game. It was a hard-fought game, but in the end, the Bruins lost 53-46.

The Varsity Girls’ playoff run earned them a laudable record of 17-10 on the season. Congratulations on a spectacular season go out to all the Padua basketball players, trainers, and coaches, and especially to the seniors who will be graduating this year. Good luck next season, Bruins!
