Padua’s Forensic and Law II students head downtown for an ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) simulation

Two weeks ago, Padua’s Forensic and Law II students went on a field trip downtown and participated in the ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) simulation. My Track Law Champion and Law teacher Mrs. Lora Winger told us that students worked with Commander Dave Frattare and his team on a “case” for the students to try and solve with a Cuyahoga County prosecutor.
Earlier in the day Oriana Ortiz, a sophomore here at Padua, talked about her future and how the MyTrack Law program is going to help her pave the way towards this goal of hers. She says “I would like to be a lawyer or go into that field so this program helps me tremendously.” And Ortiz credits Mrs. Winger with giving all MyTrack Law students many opportunities, helping them pursue what they would like to accomplish in their near future.

Winger says that anyone–freshmen through seniors–can join this program simply on club day, and then they have a meeting about 2 weeks later to see who is interested. Ortiz would really like more students to get involved. “This is an amazing program and so simple to get involved in….MyTrack Law II opens so many opportunities for everyone’s future and I am so glad I get to experience such a great program like this.”
Winger also states they have an upcoming field trip in April where they will be going to the court justice center downtown and going to Judge Midday’s courtroom, police museum, and some stuff with the sheriff.
