Padua Chromebook FAQ

Here are answers to some common Chromebook questions:

1) Why do I randomly get signed out of my Chromebook during the day?

A) This isn’t random – there is a built in timer that doesn’t allow Chromebooks to be logged in to for more than 24 hours. To avoid this, it is recommended to get in the habit of picking a time each day to completely sign out of your Chromebook and sign back in. This will restart the timer.

2) I get an “initializing” screen every day

A) This is expected. The first time you sign in to a Chromebook this process should take around 5 minutes. Daily logins should only take about a minute while updates are pulled. If you are seeing this screen for longer than usual, try signing out and back in – this usually fixes it.

3) My Chromebook battery doesn’t last a full school day

A) If your battery isn’t lasting around 8 hours when fully charged, please see the Help Desk for servicing.

4) There’s an app I think would be useful, who do I tell?

A) Feel free to email Mr. Orr (norr@paduafranciscan.net) at the Help Desk what you’re interested in and he’ll discuss it with the administration.

For any other questions please feel free to email Mr. Orr (norr@paduafranciscan.net).
